Have you ever made your own stencil with our Window Sheets? For this card, I used the four mini heart dies found in the Sweet Hearts Dies set to create my stencil. Since I wanted 5 hearts on my stencil, I just ran the window sheet through the Die Cutting Machine twice. The first time I ran the window sheet through with the four dies, the second time I ran the window sheet run through with only one die. To keep the dies in place, I like to use Washi Tape.
I took these pictures after the stencils were used. Here are a couple tips for making your own stencil and for using it to create your background:
Cut your designs at least 1 inch from the edge of the window sheet!
If your design is close to the edge, add Post It notes to the edges to avoid ink from going onto the cardstock! The hearts on this stencil are Way too close to the edge, so I needed to use several Post Its around the edges to prevent ink from going onto the cardstock while using the Blender Brush. Trust me, the first one I made had lots of ink all over the place. lol.
I used the blender brush with Real Red Ink on the stencil and to create a little cloud of ink as a background for the heart and mini envelope top layer.
This card is made to fit in the 6.75 envelopes that most people use for sending checks. I have found the plain white envelopes, without the inside security print, at the Dollar Tree. Yes! 40 envelopes for $1! The finished size of the card is 3 1/4″ x 6″ (Basic White cardstock cut 6 1/2″ x 6″ then scored at 3 1/4″) Such a cute size to send!
