Welcome to my first project page for the Ornate Garden Suite.
When I first started playing with the Ornate Style stamp set I wanted to color the bouquet soft colors for Spring. My color combination was inspired by our Perennial Essence Vellum Cardstock. Once I saw the Ornate Floral Embossing Folder, I knew I wanted to use the soft, pretty vellum in this pack of Old Olive, Petal Pink and So Saffron sheets.
They all turned out so different, yet the same. Which one do you like?
For the first three cards I used the Old Olive Vellum with the Ornate Floral Folder.
I used both the dark and light blends while coloring. The ribbon in the Ornate Garden Suite is Teracotta Tile but the Calypso Coral blends coordinate beautifully with that color.
This is the card that popped the best for me with the Balmy Blue blends to create the Forget-Me-Not flowers. If you are placing an order to participate in my April Mystery Hostess Party, you will receive two card kits of this card 😍. Check out the details below for the Mystery Party and the kits!
Creating Tip #1
Die Cutting tip on these detailed frames… I was struggling getting a thorough cut through the top and bottom of the frames, so I ran it through two times (back and forth) at an angle and it all cut beautifully! I used my Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip attachment to clean the dies and cut frames to get the tiny pieces out.
Creating Tip #2
To adhere the vellum to the white cardstock, I sponged the back of the vellum with liquid glue.
I LOVE how this next one turned out, too! I used the smaller detailed frame behind the flowers and love how it adds just the right amount of detail to this card. The So Saffron Vellum is so pretty on the white detailed frame. I also love how the Terracotta Tile ink pops on the So Saffron cardstock on this card. The sentiments come from the new Ornate Thanks Stamp set.

This is the first Project Kit for $25 April orders:
We are not allowed to stamp images for kits, so you will need to provide the main image for these cards. Steps you need to do to assemble your card:
Score your base card at 5 1/2″ and fold in half.
Use a paper piercing tool to remove the remaining pieces from the So Saffron Frame (this will Really help speed up things on my end)
Sponge on liquid glue, as shown above, to the floral vellum to adhere to the white frames.
Trim down the short vellum framed piece to 1 1/2″. This will just cut down the bulk from overlapping the other piece.
Stamp the Whisper White cardstock with your top image. Color and cut.
Use your adhesive of choice to adhere all layers to card.
Cut the White ribbon in half. Create two bunny eared bows. Attach bow with Mini Glue Dot.
Wha La! you have a Beautiful Card for Any Occasion.
One last little Quick video to show you how I colored and fussy cut the Floral Bouquet for this card: I start with Dark then color over with Light to help ‘blend’ the colors. I am so sorry if this is blurry on your end. I have double checked it in a couple places… some are clear and some are blurry. Sorry… I’m still trying to figure stuff out.
