Huge shout out to the person that came up with this technique!!! Just another great way to use our beautiful assortment of Wood Textures Designer Specialty Paper (DSP).
To get this Wood Planking look, simply cut your paper into three strips (no measurements needed)… Distress the edges of the paper with the edge of a scissors or a distressing tool… after all long edges are distressed, use a Sponge Dauber with Early Espresso Ink to cover up the white core of the paper. Once you have your wood paper distressed with the edges inked, mount onto a piece of Early Espresso Cardstock. Mount this piece onto Very Vanilla Card Base.
Our Wood Textures DSP pack comes with 12 double-sided designs. Click on the image below, in the Ingredients section, for a closer look at all of the different textures of wood.
The stamp set I used to create these cards is ‘Count My Blessings’❤️ I stamped on Watercolor Paper with our Basic Black pad and watercolored the images using an Aqua Painter with the ink in the well of the ink pads.
I love love love all of our Ribbons and Trim to add layers of texture to this card.
Embellishments include Burlap Ribbon, Copper Trim and Copper Metallic Thread from the Annual Catalog and Jute Twine from the Holiday Catalog.
Colors used for the oak leaves and acorns: Cajun Craze, Chocolate Chip & Crumb Cake.
Colors used for the flowers: Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive & Crumb Cake.
Use the Best Badge Punch with a contrasting wood paper or use the same paper and turn to give a contrast to the wood grain.
