We are in the last days of enjoying butterflies in our area. As they begin their journey to the deep South, I thought I need to share this gem of a card, before they are all gone for the winter. This was one of the projects we made in my July classes…
So often the colors of my cards are inspired by the embellishments that I have on hand… As you can see, our beautiful new ribbons in our 2017-2018 Annual Catalog, along with their co-ordinating colors bring such beauty to this card.
Check out the details…
I used the beautiful, Lemon Lime Twist, 1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon as a layer on the Rich Razzleberry cardstock strip, under the butterfly. With a little SNAIL Adhesive, this ribbon stays in place perfectly.
I used Vellum Cardstock for the top butterfly and our beautiful Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Paper for the body. The Bold Butterfly Framelits are designed to cut the butterflies out, perfectly. For the body, I used the body of a dragonfly from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits ❣️ (who knew?) It fits perfect!!! (and covers up the glue dot used on the vellum layer 😉 )
One more little tip: for the saying… gotta love the photopolymer stamps… I curved this saying on a clear block to fit perfectly into the Duet Banner Punch. To give this banner a little pop, I used a Sponge Dauber with the Lemon Lime Twist ink.
