I Love my backyard friends and the Bluebirds have their own little house that they make their home every year. I was inspired by their beauty for this card. Hope you like it… a quick and easy card with the Best Birds and Birds & Blooms Dies. (purchase the bundle and Save)

Creation Tips for this Card:
Using the Basic Black Archival ink for this card is a must! It doesn’t bleed when using the Aqua Painters to color in images. To use your ink pads for coloring, press the pad in the center before opening. This will push the top of the container onto the ink pad to create a little pallet of ink. Open the ink pad and there you have your ink to use with your Aqua Painters, paint brushes, Blender Pens, etc… what ever you prefer to use. If you need an excess amount of ink, just add a drop of ink from your refill bottles to the lid of your ink pad.
To color my bird. I started with a light wash of Dapper Denim ink. I like to start light and add layers of color to enhance areas. I finished with the belly of the bird using Calypso Coral ink.
For the branch I used Tip Top Taupe and Wild Wasabi inks.
I prefer to color in my images before I take them to my Big Shot to cut out with the coordinating dies.
Stamping the saying with Tip Top Taupe gives a nice contrast to the Crumb Cake Cardstock.
For the Burlap Ribbon… rather than trying to use any adhesive I used my hand held stapler. (I love our little staples! a tad bit smaller than standard staples… perfect little accents to any project) If you don’t have a stapler, the best method to keep this ribbon down is to use the Mono Liquid Adhesive… apply to the ribbon; let it dry to get sticky and then put into place on your project. To add the branch, I also used this glue!!! I used Dimensionals to pop the bird up to sit on the branch and to match the height of the ribbon and branch.
The ‘Best Birds’ stamp set (#141525) includes everything to make a complete card, including the fun burlap background stamp. The ‘Birds & Blooms’ Thinlits (#141477) have everything you need to cut the stamped images out PLUS 3 bonus Bird Dies!!! Click on the image below to take a closer look.
