I was so excited to figure out this card!!! I don’t do videos, but I hope these step-by-step pics will help show you how to create your own snowy or starry evening cards. To start, I used Whisper White cardstock as the base card, then used Night of Navy ink and Island Indigo ink to create the beautiful evening sky. Use a sponge with the Island Indigo ink, first, followed by the Night of Navy. No need to do the whole card as you will be covering it up with your skyline and sleigh.
After you are done sponging, place your card into the Softly Falling Embossing folder (#139672)… Notice on this pic that the ‘Sizzix’ name is showing on top and your sponged area is up! This will give your the nice raised dots on the correct side.
Now, pull out your sanding block or any fine grade sanding paper or nail file… gently go over your dots and … magic happens!!!
I used the Shimmery White Cardstock(#101910) with the Sleigh Ride Edgelit (#139672) to give the sparkly snow affect. One little tip on the sleigh and horse edgelit… use a sheet of wax paper between the die and the cardstock! I found that this worked best on this card. Don’t use the dryer sheet… this will push the reins into the die and it becomes difficult to pull out. The Jingle All the Way stamp set sayings (#139907) are designed to flow perfectly with any of the edgelits in the set. Check out the set below to see the different sayings and cute little objects that come in the set. Purchase as a bundle(#140862) and save %15.
I hope you like today’s card and will take the time to create it.
